Interstate Restoration is a national emergency response restoration and general contractor specializing in the return of compromised property to their pre-loss condition. We work with our clients to restore their properties.  Our team restores commercial, multifamily, hospitality, educational properties from water damages, flood, fire, smoke and natural disasters.

A Loss Control Specialist is the primary position of coordinating, assigning and managing Subcontractors to successfully follow the Scope of Work for one or more projects at a time.  A Loss Control Specialist is a part of the Central Operational Response for Emergencies or CORE department.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with executive and/or regional leaders to identify and solve employee related issues
  • Offer practical HR solutions to a client group across multiple regional branches
  • Contribute within the HR team to develop and deliver programs and services
  • Act as part of the client group leadership team and make strong contributions to the operation
  • Assist in developing, training and implementing a variety of regional and corporate HR initiatives
  • Act as a local resource for interpretation of HR policy and procedures
  • Coach leaders on employee issues, leadership effectiveness
  • Assist in the formalization, implementation and ongoing use of a company performance management system
  • Assist leaders in driving employee engagement through all levels of the organization
  • Assist in facilitating talent reviews and succession planning
  • Plan and facilitate new hire orientations
  • Process, verify and submit documentation relating to new hires, transfers, etc.
  • Support for regional labor and/or employee relations initiatives
  • Coordinates the posting of all new open positions with the Hiring Manager and Corporate Talent Advisor
  • Participates in the candidate interviews with hiring managers
  • Assists in the preparation and the presentation of offers of employment to candidates
  • This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities, but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.
  • Other general related duties as required

Requirements/Qualifications

Technical Qualifications:

  • Computer Literate; MS Word, Excel, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Outlook (Email).
  • Knowledgeable of Local, State and Federal code application and how to determine Code requirements.
  • Knowledge of Industry policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of budgeting and cost control.

  • Ability to set goals and monitor them.
  • Excellent problem solving capabilities.
  • Have high standards of professional conduct with Clients, Subs and in-house.

Experience:

  • 2+ years of restoration or construction experience
  • 2+ years' experience handling budgets
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience in building construction trade

Preferences

  • College degree preferred

Work Requirements

  • This job operates in a professional office environment.  Use of standard office equipment such as computer and smartphone is required.
  • Speaking and/or hearing is a regular part of this role.
  • Largely a sedentary; however, some bending, standing or stooping is necessary
  • May attend disaster sites exposure to hazardous environment and conditions
